Preservation age

Under superannuation law, restrictions are placed on when you can access your lump sums. A key restriction is your 'preservation age' which is in addition to the CSS rules governing how and when members can elect to receive their CSS benefit.

You generally cannot receive your entire benefit as a cash lump sum until you reach your preservation age – which is outlined in the following table:
